Lent Programme – It is a time for a greater attentiveness to personal and collective prayer and study, and it is a time for fasting, self-denial and charuty but all with the purpose of sharing in the life passion and resurrection of Jesus more fully. It is important that we do not overburden ourselves or others or else we will simply be tired and jaded before Holy Week and Easter. The most important element in our Lent programme is the Holy Week programme.
Before we enter Holy Week together on Palm Sunday the following is available in the parish.
● 18 services a week in our normal cycle of prayer and worship that you may wish to consider if you do not already.
● The Church will be open for personal prayer, counsel and confession Tuesdays 6.15 – 7.30 pm and Saturdays 9.30 am – 12 noon.
● Tuesdays 7.30 pm commencing 20th February and Thursdays 10.15 am 22nd February, four Lent addresses and one discussion on the types of prayer.
● The Emmaus House Group (Thursday evenings) will be welcoming new members (see Tracey Searle or Lorrina Cockett).
● Charity is important in Lent – please consider your giving to St. Margaret’s but also elsewhere; in particular Christian Aid (Margery Jones) and the Homeless (Peter Maddox or Lynda Bartholomew).
● Daily Bible Reading Fellowship – (Margaret Royce)
